National Adoption Awareness Month

Adoption

What comes to mind when you think of the word adoption? As believers and followers of Christ, we are all adopted. We were once enemies of God, but have now been made children of God! Paul writes to the believers of Ephesus and reminds the church of the amazing blessing of spiritual adoption, “he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will” (Ephesians 1:5).

BUT….God’s word also speaks of physical adoption through orphan care. James writes, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world” (James 1:27). Adoption is a way we as Christians can demonstrate God’s love for the hurting and needy. Recent statistics show that 5,760 children are orphaned each day. There are children all over the world that need homes and need to know the love of God our father. We (Zoe Clothing Co) have a heart for orphan care. Our head designer adopted a baby girl from Japan and it has been a goal of ours to help other Christians adopt as well.

If you are a parent, remember that when you are putting your child to bed tonight, tucking them in with a good-night kiss, there are millions of children who are going to bed alone. There are millions of children who don’t have homes, who will die of starvation, who will be sold into slavery. Please pray for these children.

This month is National Adoption Awareness month and we will be highlighting different people and ministries that support adoption. We pray that you might consider supporting adoption!

We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19
