Is Zoe Clothing Trash?

This is a very interesting time. The Corona Virus has caused fear, panic, doubt, sadness, and loss. Unfortunately, this may only be the tip of the iceberg. Things could get worse. As a company, we felt the financial effect immediately. Our parent company, Deo Volente Industries (they pay all the bills), designs and prints for different organizations across the country. Most of the work is event based, so when there are no events, there is no work. As an owner, it is scary to think about what the future holds. But I know what happens to our company really doesn't matter. What matters is how we can glorify a great God through this trial.

Last year, I started reading a book by Puritan writer John Owen called "The Glory of Christ."  Feeling convicted, I started to pray, "God, teach me to treasure the glories of Christ more." I realized that my understanding of Christ was shallow and in turn my worship was shallow. God has helped to answer that prayer through the Corona Virus. This pandemic has taken freedom, jobs, money, and happiness. It has taught me to look to Christ and treasure Him more! Paul writes in Philippians, "For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ." Everything else compared to Christ is like rubbish. Compared to the Glory of Christ, everything is trash, even Zoe Clothing Company. I have a long way to go, a lot of growing to do, but I am thankful that God can teach me through this adversity.

"On Christ's glory I would fix all my thoughts and desires, and the more I see of the glory of Christ, the more the painted beauties of this world will wither in my eyes and I will be more and more crucified to this world" -John Owen
