Gonzales Adoption

"I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
 out of the mud and mire;
 He set my feet on a rock
 and gave me a firm place to stand.
 He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
" Psalm 40:1-3

These verses really sum up our experience with infertility and our new adventure. We are Tim and Kayla Gonzales, a young couple hoping to grow our family through adoption. Tim and I waited for over 18 months for the Lord to hear our cry for a baby. We were stuck on the first part of verse one for what seemed like an eternity until one day we felt God leading us to adoption. When we read verse two we could honestly say that is what infertility felt like to us. It was an awful place to be until God saw that it was time to lift us out of our situation. The truth is I am still infertile but God picked us up and set our feet on a rock where we do not have to be overcome by the mud and mire of infertility. He gave us a firm place to stand and declare that He is more powerful than any diagnosis that hangs over us. He can provide a family when there is no medical hope for one.

Our journey out of the miry clay has been the springboard for us to speak openly about infertility and building our family through adoption.  Tim and I are excited about becoming parents. We know that we can be a blessing to a child who would otherwise not be able to have a secure home life. And we are certain that the child will be a blessing to our little family. Since God has brought us to this point we want to praise Him through every aspect of our adoption, including this fundraiser.
