The Shoemaker Adoption

This fundraiser is closed. We are Zach and Tina Shoemaker. We are currently in the process of pursuing our second adoption. Adoption has always been a big part of our family and early in our dating years we always planned on adopting and talked about it frequently.  After struggling with infertility, we ultimately decided we did not want to pursue any other option – we knew God was calling us to adoption. We believe that adoption is one of the most beautiful demonstrations of God's perfect love for us and we are so eager to raise children who know and love God.

 

In February of 2015 we adopted our precious John Henry from The Cradle in Evanston, IL.  We fell in love with him the moment we laid eyes on him!  He was welcomed home with an indescribable love by all of our family and friends. Now, we feel our hearts longing for a second baby - one who we have not met yet, but are already in love with.   Both of us grew up with a sibling who we were very close too, and we look forward to seeing that sibling bond between our children.  We are so excited to bring another baby into our family so they can be loved not only by a wonderful big brother and the amazing support system we have around us, but so he or she can be raised to know the unconditional, relentless love of our Father.

Now we are working to make ends meet to raise the funds to bring another baby home. During our first adoption we were in awe of the way that God provided exactly what we needed - almost to the exact dollar. Philippians 4:19 says, "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." We are so grateful for all of the family and friends who have partnered with us to bring our family together. We have seen firsthand how God answers prayers in a way more perfect and beautiful than we ever could have imagined. We are eager and so very excited. Our hearts are wide open as we wait for the blessings the future holds.
